HANOVER – OK, the Fearful Forecast ought to shut it down for the year after a week to remember.
Not only did the Forecast have its first perfect week of the season – 5-0 not that anyone is counting – but it correctly predicted how many points Penn would score, how many Columbia would score, how many points Princeton would score and how many points Fordham would score.
Add it up and FF had at least one team’s point total perfect in all but one game.
Ah, but this is a new week so here we go again:
Harvard 7-0, 4-0 at Columbia 1-6, 0-4
Columbia is better than its record shows, even if it didn’t look that way against Dartmouth. Harvard is as good as its record shows, as it proved to Dartmouth. Harvard 38-10.
Yale 5-2, 3-1 at Brown 3-4, 0-4
The Bulldogs continue to sniff around a potential tie for the Ivy League title. They need help but can take care of this one themselves. Yale 24-21.
Cornell 3-4, 2-2 at Penn 5-2, 3-1
The Quakers are the opposite of Harvard. They are probably not as good as their record, but they are better than Cornell. Penn 28-14
New Hampshire 5-4, 3-2 at Monmouth 8-1, 5-0
All I know about Monmouth is it’s near the Jersey shore. UNH is on the New Hampshire seacoast. Take the Jersey shore over the New Hampshire seacoast. Monmouth 24-17.
Stonehill 3-6, 2-2 at Central Connecticut 6-3, 4-0
There’s a real temptation to take Stonehill. Temptation resisted. Central Connecticut 31-21
Bucknell 4-5, 1-3 at Fordham 1-8, 1-4
If perfection eludes The Forecast blame it on this one. The Rams take it to the Bison. Fordham 17-14.
